This issue of our Newsletter presents some forms of collaboration that facilitate the growth of innovation ecosystems, as it happens with industry-university partnerships. We approach this topic in the Dialogues section, through a very interesting interview with Carlos Martínez Vela, Director of Innovation Policy at the John Adams Innovation Institute, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s economic development division. Likewise, in Champions of Innovation we present a very successful example of collaboration: that of our TechBA program of Technology Business Accelerators, whose offices count with allies coming from the government, the academe and the private sector, which has help them to obtain excellent results when supporting the internationalization of the companies they serve. For Sectors and Regions we prepare an article on the advances of the FUMEC’s Food Safety Program, which leans on contributions from different actors in order to improve the productivity of Mexican honeybee production companies and favor the commercialization of their products at a global level. Finally, in Key Documents we dedicate this space to talk about the Small Business Innovation research (SBIR), a program that after more than 20 years of work has become one of the best examples of cooperation among private and public sectors in the Unites States. Also, the SBIR can serve as a reference to support the creation and growth of high technology firms in Mexico. We hope you enjoy reading this articles and that the examples presented here inspire you to continue working to create innovation environments that stimulate the economic development of our countries.
