FUMEC sets the basis to collaborate with SENER PDF Print

During February and March 2010, FUMEC hold three meetings with high profile decision makers of the Mexican Ministry of Energy (SENER) with the aim to explore collaboration possibilities in this sector.

Along these sessions, FUMEC members empha-sized the importance to build support mechanisms for promoting the development of technology-based firms that enable the generation of innovations on energy. They brought as an example the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), a U.S. governmental program that involves small firms of this country in research and development tasks, and has the participation of 11 Departments of State.

Through this program, the U.S. Department of Energy organizes a call to generate innovation projects in renewable energy and energetic efficiency, promoting the development of products and services with high commercialization potential.

SENER representatives show genuine interest in the Foundation’s proposal and, in the middle term, a call for Mexican enterprises in this area can be opened, so they can be able to get more aids.
